I feel like I totally abandoned my Blogspot, Twitter and Tumblr all together, but I swear there's a perfect explanation for all of it! These past few days have been pretty hectic. I've been working like crazy (which is good, I guess) and I've just been so pooped after work that I don't even have the energy to log into any of my accounts. Starting last Thursday was when all the madness began.
Wednesday night, I received an email from an office that I applied at the day before which was Tuesday afternoon. It was for a receptionist/assistant position at a nearby optometrist office. I was so happy because in only a matter of hours, the Doctor from that office emailed me asking to come in for a interview that Thursday morning. I was nervous, but I wasn't freakin' out like I was with my last interview for my previous job because for some reason, I just felt like I already had it in the bag? I don't know. So Thursday morning comes, my sister brings me to my interview because they were doing construction work on our street and we couldn't drive out of it, so she had to pick me up. I then get to my interview 20 minutes early, but I decide to go in just to get it over with...
During the interview, I'm sitting there going through my resume with the Doctor and she then says, "So you speak Spanish right?" I tell her I don't, but I did take it for 2 years in high school. She seems a little bummed. I think to myself, "crap, now I definitely won't get the job because I don't speak spanish!" But then she reassures me later that I don't have to speak it nor understand it. And of course, the worst thing that could possibly happen, happened...my phone starts vibrating! Good thing she didn't hear it, or..at least I hope she didn't haha. Finally, the interview is over. I was so shocked because it literally only took 10 minutes! I was so disappointed because I felt like I totally bombed the interview and that she wasn't going to hire me at all. Come early Saturday morning, I get an email from her asking me when I'm available to start and that she wants me to come in for a training session this coming week! God knows I was so stoked! Actually, everyone in my whole family knew I was. I seriously thought I wasn't going to get it, but luckily..I did :)
I was so happy and I even cried because I know this is a job that I know is perfect for me. Knowing that I have so much experience for this position is even greater. I mean this job was seriously a gift sent from heaven and I can't tell you enough how convenient it is for me. I mean my schedule is Mon-Thurs (Fri, Sat, Sun off, how great is that), 10:15am-6:15pm, and it's literally 5 minutes away from my house. Another nice thing about it is, our office is located next door to Walmart, so YOU KNOW my ass will be there during my lunch, shopping! I just couldn't be happier.
So all this good news took place Saturday morning, I had work 'til closing that night and then to celebrate, my brothers, sisters, and Jay wanted to go crabbing again! It was funnnnn, but of course it was freezing! We ended up catching about 20 crabs, but we could've caught more if it weren't for these two seals that kept messin' with our bait! I swear, we felt like they were mocking us because everytime my brothers or Jay would throw in the net, the seal would dive under and try to get the bait. And when we finally would pull out the net, almost the whole chicken would be gone! Lol.. Got home around 6ish and then had to wakeup around noon to head over to SJ for Jay's niece's birthday. Finally saw Jay's fam after how long. I really missed them! Had fun, but had to leave early cuz Jay had work the next day, which is today.
So, unfortunately today, I had to put in my two weeks at my other job. It's sad, because I know I'll miss Liley and Estela, but I know this new job is something that I really need. And I know in the long run, I know I'll benefit from this new job more. So cheers to bigger and better opportunities! I know it takes awhile to see that things don't always work out the way we want them too, WHEN we want them too, but if you give it a little time, everything will work out in the end. No doubt. I feel so blessed to know that right now, at this exact moment, things are just getting better and better and everything's working just how I wished for it to be. God is good and that's pretty much all I have to say about that.
